The picture above is thanks to the geneology website Ancestry.com. Some of our Minnesotan relatives posted several pictures of Gustav and Hannah Alfrida (Anderson Munter) Almquist there. At the far left is Gus in a spiffy print tie, followed by Hanna and her brother John Anderson and at the far right is Selma (Blom) Anderson.
They posted this nice close-up of Gus, check out those ears!:
John and Alfrida (the name she seemed to have preferred) sailed together to the New World in 1906. They also probably lived in Massachusetts for a short time together. The above pictures were taken about 40 years later, John died in 1949 so it must be before that date. I am assuming the Almquists were visiting the Andersons, as John looks a little frail for long distance travel.
They also posted this nice wedding photo of Gus and Alfrida, I love her gloves!
Anybody know the date of their marriage? Sometime after May 1906 and before February 1907?
Check out my next post for a little bit on Alfrida and her brother John’s journey to the New World!
