Remember the concrete pipes in the last post?  Here are a pair turned into planters in front of the Almquists’ Perris house, in what I estimate to be 1919.  That estimate is based in the ages of the kids in the photo and the season, as this picture is looking pretty Easter-y to me,

If this is 1919 then the baby is Hulda Elizabeth (Liz) at age 8 1/2 months, a common age for beginning to stand.  She was born August 1, 1918 and Easter Sunday was April 20, 1919 that year.

The girl holding Liz’s hand is Freda, born April 7, 1909, making her just turned 10. The mother is Hannah Alfrieda Munter, born January 30, 1885, making her 34.

The tallest girl is Blanche, born August 12, 1907, which makes her 11, going on 12.

The boy is Dan, born July 7, 1913, making him 6 going on 7.

Does anybody remember how tall the Almquist kids were?  I don’t remember Mary or Freda being that tall, but I only knew them in their 60’s and later.  Blanche looks like she is passing up her mom at 11, I know how that feels!
