In 1909 things really picked up for the Almquists in Perris. Click on the blue links to see the articles.

In February, Gus and L.O. Whitlock sent out for a cement block building machine.  Does anyone remember the details of this early partnership?

In April, we hear that Whitlock and Gus are cranking out the concrete blocks, as well as Freda being born (April 7).

In May, Gus and Whitlock plaster a house.

In August, Gus starts a string of property improvement projects, starting with a well.

In September, Hannah Alfrieda makes a land grab

Also in September, Alfrieda and the family visit her brother Aldoph Anderson in Moreno Valley.

In October, they visit Adolph again 1909.

They also spiff up the place in October with some wallpaper and another well is dug, perhaps on a different property than earlier in the year.  Their residence for about 20 years was 395 West 2nd street, Perris- an address that doesn’t exist anymore.
